Shotgun Start

I ran a lot of club events and one of my favorite things was the shotgun start. I had a Birdie Banger gun passed down to me by the old pro that was used to start each event. The little orange blaster was meant for airports and scaring birds away but doubled as a great way to start a shotgun. Who knew?

As great as the Birdie Banger was it wouldn’t cut it for the 4th of July. We had a member who knew a thing or 2 about fireworks and offered up a solution. I don’t know what it was, but it was loud. We could’ve started 8am shotguns at all courses within 5 miles that morning. It was a proper 4th of July shotgun start.
