Taking a Caddie

I’d argue there is no better way to enjoy a round of golf than with a good caddie.

I’ve gone full trips with taking a caddie and full trips just carrying my own. I’ve had a blast both ways. I’ve seen the ultimate caddie experience for groups, and I’ve seen a caddie get fired 12 holes in. Here’s a couple things I’ve learned.

First off, decide what kind of experience you want and tell your caddie that. Do you want someone to just carry your bag and give some help when asked? Or do you want this to be your teammate for the day and they’re going to guide and assist your every move. Your call.

The other thing is communication from YOU. Lots of time you’re relying on your caddie to communicate information to you. It’s equally, if not more important for you to communicate to them. Give them info about your golf game. Tell them what you’re comfortable with and not comfortable with. It makes both of your lives easier.
